A hasty departure from a zinc mine left many personal belongings in the workers homes. In the decades that have followed since this mine was closed, the elements as well as visitors who tread less carefully, have eaten away at the buildings and their contents.
This trip was unusually emotional for me, seeing peoples lives abruptly uprooted in an emergency and what they were forced to leave behind. The traces and echoes of entire families last moments in their homes still reside.
