Saturday, watching the game. Sunday, shopping for a packaged, out-of-the-box lifestyle at that big blue store. Monday, the perfect windsor knot and smoothly pressed shirt then back to the cube; waiting for Friday again. It was so comfortably predictable and I bought it all without a question. I was no survivalist, I watched the larger than life celebrities on TV display their prowess at catching fish and building shelters, reenforcing my “gatherer” status in our fragile society. I was another cog in the machine.
How I survived the disastrous changes that fell on earth, I’m not sure. Nor did I know I had the instincts that have seen me through, it has to be more than just luck. I wonder what the reality show survivor stars are doing now?

You can start planting your potatoes, cabbages, onions… that way, at least, you will have something to eat.
Unless the disastrous event, is any cosmic cataclysm. In this case, don’t worry, it’s better to die.
