Lost Access

I’m feeling Nine Inch Nails inspired this Monday morning. NIN tickets for their fall tour went on sale over the weekend, but the method of buying them was, shall we say, analog. Tickets were only available in person at the venue the performance is being held at. The purpose for this, as I understand, was to force fans to engage with one another. Despite a few grumblings and premature rumors tickets were sold out, the objective of the sale method was successful. People were forced into a social situation that didn’t involve a computer network. By the end of day pictures were being taken, numbers were exchanged, farewells and “see you at the show” were remarked.

There was one kicker to the experience in New York City; the line was so long, we stood waiting for 8 hours, in the rain.
