It’s a sobering reminder of what happens to us all when we age. The life time of possessions that we collect and surround ourselves with will one day have to be dealt with by someone else. That’s usually the case, sometimes the world we’ve created is just left. Boarded up and forgotten as time slowly eats away at what’s left.

This is very powerful, Will, in image and in word. One of the best things I ever did was to pare down my entire life into 2 4x4x4 boxes to move from the USA to the Netherlands. And now we have made the choice to live simply and not continue to collect things. It has made all the difference in the world!
… in this life, it’s better to have nothing. Only the enough to live.
Powerful subject and photo.
This is something I think about and realize as well from time to time. We are so busy building our lives, shaping it with things we collect and try to make perfect. But one day someone else will go through all those things because you can no longer do so yourself. Will they value them as much as you did? Another great image that makes one think.
