Summer’s gone and it feels like we skipped Fall, at least it does up here in the Rockies at 9,000ft! For a brief moment during those last weeks of Summer the fungi make their appearance and leave me scrambling across the countryside staring at the ground looking for that textbook fairy sitting on a magic mushroom toad still. After a much disappointing search I found this little beauty not far from our home. I think the problem was I built up an image in my head of the photograph I wanted when I should have been keeping a more open mind to my surroundings, lesson learned.
